About Me
organizing a warehouse for safety

Do you have all of the organizational equipment that you need to keep your storage areas organized and safe? If not, now is the time to begin looking into the industrial shelving that is manufactured for businesses just like yours. It was not until I lost a lot of product due to a stack of pallets falling over that I knew just how important it was to have shelving to stack the pallets of goods on. Sure, I was able to file a claim and retrieve some of the lost money, but it had a severely negative impact on my business. Learn more about how I reorganized my warehouse and improved the situation for my business, my employees and my customers.

A Look At The Pros & Cons Of Frame Scaffolding

Sam Gomez

Known as one of the most basic and common types of scaffolding, frame-style scaffolding consists of a frame for support and a platform for holding workers and their materials. If you are considering renting this type of scaffolding for a project, it is best to know the advantages and limitations. Here is a look at the pros and cons to help you decide.

Pro: The frames can be stacked in multiple tiers to reach higher stories.

One of the greatest things about frame-type scaffolding is that it is highly versatile. A small setup can be used on a single story building or home, but you can just as easily add new levels on top of the existing setup to reach higher levels. This is one reason why so many different types of contractors rely on frame scaffolding, whether they are painting, doing construction, or just cleaning windows.

Con: Frame scaffolding can be a little less capable of supporting heavier weights.

Frame scaffolding is excellent if you only need to raise and support a person or two and some basic tools. However, it is not always the best option if you need to get to a high height with equipment that will weigh a lot. For example, if you are doing a construction project and need to have a load of bricks hoisted up to work with, a system scaffolding setup would be a better alternative.

Pro: Frame scaffolding is one of the more affordable types of scaffolding to rent.

Frame scaffolding is made out of basic materials, so it is not usually the most expensive type of scaffolding. Therefore, it is affordable to rent even for smaller-scale projects, and it is easy to find at an equipment rental store. If you go with something more advanced like hoist-style scaffolding, the materials the setup is made out of are more expensive, so the equipment piece will naturally be a little higher to rent.

Con: Frame scaffolding is not the best for high-rise buildings.

High-rise buildings will require a type of scaffolding that can be suspended at great heights, and frame scaffolding has to be built up platform by platform. The higher the platform levels go, the more instability you will run into and the more weight there is on the lower feet of the scaffolding. This is fine for multiple stories, but not so great for exceptionally high-height work, such as on a high-rise building.
